Enrollment at some school districts has leveled off since last year's spike caused by the introduction of 4-year-old kindergarten.

Ashwaubenon School District enrollments are down about two dozen students versus a year ago, when the district added students in part through the new program, according to September enrollment headcounts submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction." Two Brown County districts, Howard-Suamico and Pulaski, have added 4-year-old kindergarten this school year. Student headcounts there are up about 5 percent and 4 percent, respectively, according to the DPI.
