Campaign Money, Kagen, Ribble, and The Left

Looks like Reid Ribble raised some campaign money. I look at the $116,160 from individuals and see a positive. Looks like a lot of grass roots. It's still too early to tell who will run against Kagen. I also posted the first comment to the article from a lefty named brainrants. He makes a good point about the paper asking hard questions but as I said it's still early. The benighted person must be a Kagen staffer, works for the WDNC, UWGB or St Norberts. He starts out like a sane person and goes off the deep end with the teabagger talk radio comment. Maybe he should change his comment name to BRAINFART, if fits him or her. The open minded left, now really.

Ribble says opponent is 'marching lockstep with Nancy Pelosi'

Press-Gazette Washington Bureau lbivins@greenbaypressgazette.com • October 17, 2009

WASHINGTON — Kaukauna roofing contractor Reid Ribble is about to become a full-time candidate and has more than $100,000 in the bank to back his challenge to U.S. Democratic Rep. Steve Kagen.

After announcing his candidacy in July, Ribble raised $130,290 through September, according to the Federal Election Commission. Candidates are required to file campaign finance reports every three months.

Ribble, 53, a Republican and Fox Cities native, took in $116,160 from individuals and $12,500 from political action committees. He also donated $2,030 out of his own pocket. After expenses, he had $101,794 in available cash." Rep. Steve Kagen challenger Reid Ribble raises more than $130,000 | greenbaypressgazette.com | Green Bay Press-Gazette
Look here, he thinks the Green Bay Press is a part of the GOP? Get your tin hats out people.

Dear GOPress Gazette,

Rather than covering the entirely meaningless campaign money horse-race and simply repeating tiresome GOP bumper sticker slogans, how about actually INFORMING readers on the background of these candidates and getting them to answer some questions about their ALTERNATIVE solutions to the many problems Congress is confronting?

You know...campaign coverage as an actual community service rather than just an ongoing free advertising campaign for the candidates you'll inevitably be endorsing?

Thank You.
(don't worry, we won't hold our breath.)

BTW, if Mr. Ribble's campaign is to be predicated on attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, it's obvious he's NOT interested (nor qualified) to serve the interests of the people of the 8th Congressional District, but rather the interests of the Republican Party.
Leave your teabagger catnip lines on conservative talk radio, and tell voters what you plan to do and what you are for, not just what you're against.

Good luck.
