Breaking News: Assembly Natural Resources Committee wants revisions to NR115
Richard Moore

The Assembly Committee on Natural Resources, meeting in executive session, voted today to return the proposed rule on shoreland revisions, NR115, to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for possible modifications, multiple legislative sources have told The Lakeland Times.
Specifically, the committee asked the DNR if the agency would consider unspecified revisions to the rule, an action that presumably gives the Legislature time to formally object to the rule, if it desires to do so.
Committee members were given until Monday to specify what modifications they would like to see. The agency has until Sept. 24 to respond.
According to the motion, if the DNR does not respond or declines to agree to modifications, the committee would then automatically object to the rule as being arbitrary and capricious. At that point, it would go the Legislature's Joint Committee for Administrative Rules, co-chaired by Sen. Jim Holperin (D-Conover), for further review.
