Lakeland-Times Doing their Job

From Greg at the Lakeland-Times. A great read on the Lakeland area politician who is not representing his constituents.

Why is the Lakeland Times the only MSM in Wisconsin to do the jobs for the people of Wisconsin.

Hey, Jim, 50 percent of the people voted against you

Whenever a Democrat or Republican is elected to office, the first thing voters should do is watch - closely watch - which special interests and powerful politicians they line up with.

It's nice to think most politicians would line up with the people, but in the real world that rarely happens. Mostly, lawmakers and governors and presidents dance with the monied people who got them to the party in the first place.

Occasionally, a real and principled leader will emerge from the pack of hacks, and that hope is what keeps most of us voting.

That was in fact the hope of some people - though I did not buy into it - when northern Wisconsin citizens elected Jim Holperin to the state Senate last November. They thought he was going to stand up for a region that all too often only gets to lick the boots of the downstate establishment.

It hasn't taken long for that dream to be shattered. Just months into his term in office, it has become very obvious that Sen. Jim Holperin only wants to represent Gov. Jim Doyle, his special-interest friends, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

Where is T V and Newspapers in Wisconsin do their jobs. Diamonfd Jim Doyle is signing the disastrous Wisconsin budget bill today. Who besides the Lakeland-Times and conservative talk radio and bloggers reported all the crap that will be forced down the throats of the people of Wisconsin?

In print media, thank God for the Lakeland-Times.

Where is the real honest hard hitting reporting on Dave Hansen and Tom Nelson?
