93.5 WOZZ, Now Just A Memory, Pot Heads Won't Remember

Update, I had to change the title and added my comments below.

Seems on Friday WOZZ ended programing where 93.5 became WRQE, 93 Rock.

From Wiki.

The station was previously under the WOZZ call sign, and was noted for airing during the 1990s and 2000s a format of classic rock from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s ("93.5 WOZZ, The Classic Rock Station"). WOZZ previously had studios in the former Fidelity Bank building in Appleton until 2008, when Midwest Communications moved all its Green Bay and Appleton-area stations under one roof in new facilities in Bellevue, Wisconsin, a Green Bay suburb; however, WOZZ (and later WRQE) continue to maintain a control room and sales office in Appleton to meet Federal Communications Commission requirements.

During the week of September 3, 2010, WOZZ ran an online stunt on Facebook under the user name "What Does It All Mean?" The profile page (see 'External Links' below) included short videos featuring WOZZ personality David Burns and painted rocks counting down days ("5 days," "4 days," etc.). Speculation was of a format flip to a more current form of mainstream rock, which is what occurred at 5PM on September 3, after REO Speedwagon's "Time for Me to Fly" concluded; at that time, a brief audio montage introduced "93 Rock", promising a mix of rock music from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s in a less-sedate on-air presentation.[1] (Sammy Hagar's "There's Only One Way to Rock" was the first song played on "93 Rock.") With the format flip, the station adopted the WRQE call sign formerly found on its sister station at 99.7 FM in Door County (which adopted a classic rock format at the same time and day 93.5 FM adopted its new format). The Bob and Tom Show, a holdover from WOZZ, will continue to air during 93 Rock's morning drive time (5-9AM).

I added this.

What will all the pot head, dope smoking. F M type, baby boomers who listened to WOZZ going to do now that the station changed call letters and format? I'm not saying all listeners were pot heads but I know a lot of them who were.

Ah, they won't remember anyway, they smoked too much dope, lost all memeory.

Slip Slide And Away

Took Mrs B ATV ing Saturday. Went on the Oconto County Dusty Trails club trails. Did a 70 mile trip with our GREAT neighbors. Stopped at 11:00 for a Bloody Mary at the Wheel Inn , in Stephenson. Took the trail north to Crooked Lake. The above picture from Google is some of the fun we had slipping and sliding in mud and water from Crooked Lake to Smyth Road.

We stopped and talked to a couple of guys and they asked us if we seen a dead bear cub coming out of Crooked Lake. We told him we didn't. He said a pack of wolves killed it a couple days ago. the wolf pack must of dragged it away to eat. From there, tried to find our way to Lakewood. Got lost a couple times and decided to head back. Berry Lakers mother was visiting so we went home.

Our 2 up seat Polaris ATV

was the best investment we could of made. the trails are limitless and you can go to Michigan if you really want. From May to November the trails are open. It gives Mrs B and I time together. Thank You Lord.

It's Sunday morning. Off to church in Krakow, pick up the Sunday paper and help Mr's B can tomatoes. Big birthday party for Penelope ( Berry Laker son # 2 girlfriend) tonight, she turns 21 next week.

No, no, no, I did not forget the race at Atlanta tonight. Go # 5 old man!

Kagen's Boat Has A Leak

EHExtra.com reports a stop by Nancy Pelosi's puppet Congressman Steve Kagen at Marinette Marine
As for MMC's odds of being awarded the deal? "I'm very confident. We make the best ships. We've got the best price. The Navy likes the ship. So, we've got everything in our corner," Kagen said, eliciting cheers from the crowd of MMC employees.

"I'm working hard every day to guarantee we get this contract for the LCS ships."

How does Kagen know MM has the best price? Did the company tell him the bid to the defense department? How can he guarantee MM will get the contract? If the company does all the work, ( put the bid out) how can Kagen take credit for the contract if they get it?

Are those union members that out of touch with reality that they would cheer for Kagen when he has nothing to do with their jobs? It's company management and the workers quality work that gives them job security! Steve Kagens ship has a leak and is going down!
"
We're all in the same canoe together, so let's start pulling in the same direction - and that's going forward," he said. "We can't afford to have somebody without having their paddle in the water and pushing backwards - so let's take that positive step together."

He's at a giant ship building company and he say's were all in a CANOE? Say what? You can go to the above link to read the whole thing.

He reminds me of Gilligan on the old T V show!
Will this captain go down with the ship?

Nicolet Deer 101

No I'm not a deer expert, just some observations.

1) A fawn lost it's spots this past week.

2) A small I'm assuming under two year old 4 point buck still hangs around mom. Second time I seen the pair this summer. I would think he will leave mom this fall.

3)Also after the rain last night a doe and her fawn must of licked the grass for water. A hour later that 4 point buck was licking the same spot. I can only assume he was picking up the doe's scent for the rut this fall.

Isn't the north woods GREAT.

My Vote For Wis. Senate

This is an easy one.

How can anyone living in Wisconsin vote Russ Feingold. He is no maverick! As in some of his commercials, he is not frugal with the tax payers money.

Obama Care, the bail out, the stimulus, McCain Feingold need I go on? Where are the jobs Russ? Do the people of Wisconsin want to send Russ back to Washington to take away more of our freedom? Take away more of our money? How far will Russ go to keep moving government more to socialism. What else can you call it.

We need to change Washington and Ron Johnson is the man that will do it.

You can go to his web site for more information.

I'm voting for Ron Johnson.

My Vote For Wis. 36th Assemble District

The two candidates I find running for the Wisconsin 36th are Democrat Anne Woznicki from Florence and Republican Jeff Mursau from Crivits.

First, Anne Woznicki - On her web site she has three categories on the issues. On "Creating Jobs In Northern Wisconsin", she states

The people of northern Wisconsin need a legislator who will bring home a piece of the pie to our district.

Oh boy, sounds like a typical liberal, promising that pie. On "Adequately Funding Public Schools", she states,

Both Republicans and Democrats recognize that this is a problem that must be addressed, yet they have failed to act.

It was the democrats in Anne's party that gave us this problem with ending the QEA. You know she would be in the pocket of the teachers union. What dem isn't? On"Conserving Natural Resources and Exploring Green Energy" she states,

We have the resources necessary for potential energy sources, such as wood pulp, corn, switchgrass, manure, water, wind, and sun.

Ok, sounds good but why should government and the tax payers of Wisconsin pay the bill on renewable energy? If renewable energy is the future then let private business create and sell it. Ethanol or manure mandates paid by the tax payers is not the way to go. You wonder why Jim Doyle and the left in Madison gave us a deficit. We need less government and not more. Her green position is all manure. Notice she does not address the issue of gun rights. Hummmmmmm.....

I think she ran for assembly when she lived in Manitowoc and lost. If you want higher taxes, more government then vote for Woznicki

My other choice is Jeff Mursau. Mr Mursau votes,

Yes for for voter ID,

Yes on Partial Birth/late Term Abortion Ban,

No on AB75 , 2209 Budget Bill

No on Mandatory Kindergarten,

Yes on concealed Carry, and more. on
link from Project Vote Smart.

I am not happy with all his votes Smoking ban, wind power, etc. but with Woznicki's party in control Mursau could not do a lot with Diamond Jim Doyle and the rest on the left running Wisconsin.

I have only lived in the 36th district since February but I have to say to change Wisconsin I need Mursau back in Madison. With other conservatives elected we need to take back Wisconsin.

I will vote for Jeff Mursau

My Vote For Wis. Lt Governor

I will not endorse any candidate. I will only tell you who I will vote for and why.

Three candidates are running in the upcoming republican primary for Lt. Gov..

State Rep. Brett Davis, Superior Mayor Dave Ross and Rebecca Kleefisch. Let's look at each candidate and my thoughts on them.

Sept. 10, update. To be fair to all candidates I did omit one that is on the ballot that I did not mention. Nicholas Voegeli is also on the republican primary ballot.

Nicholas Voegeli - graduate of Marquette, worked in both private and public accounting. He is a CPA and CMA who resides in Sun Praire Wisconsin. Retired as a Lt Commander after 20 years active / reserve duty as a Navy officer. Ran for Lt gov. in 2006. I have also read several links to Mr Voegeli. He has also read and commented on some of my posts. It was not fair leaving him out of my post on Lt gov which is the reason for adding this information. Mr Voegeli makes some very good points, has written several editorials and was on Wisconsin Public Radio but as of today I cannot make a fair assumption of his candidacy but at least wanted to let my two readers know some of his information.

Another updated candidate,

Robert Lorge - Here is a link to his web site. He was not on my radar screen so I cannot say either way on his positions.

I will admit of my lack of knowledge on the above two candidates. Because of my lack of their positions at this late date I cannot make a call on them. I am just a voter and will not go into the voting booth and take a guess on who I should vote for. I have to draw my own conclusion and make my vote count. There has been times in the past either in state or local races I had no idea who that person was. In those cases, I did not cast a vote for that specific race. Just telling you my position. Now to the three candidates that I know about.

Dave Ross - if you don't own a gun and want the Milwaukee to Madison high speed rail system, then he's your man. Ross was a member of "Mayors Against Illegal Guns. What gun would Ross consider illegal? You have to really think about that. High speed rail, Who is going to flip the bill to run that ill conceived choo choo train? The people of Wisconsin will pay for it out of the transportation funds. The funding the state uses for roads in the state. Or maybe a new rail tax, I can see it now. Sorry, Mr Ross is not my choice.

Brett Davis - the person picked and backed by a lot of republicans in the state. As state representative Davis sponsored ethanol mandates. He voted for mandates on ethanol and now say's he is against it. Say what, another John Kerry? Davis a republican ( say what) voted with Jim Doyle to increase taxes in Wisconsin. Voted for the money being taken from the Patients Compensation fund which was overturned by the state supreme court. So now the state is on the hook for the 200 million dollars plus interest that the state will have to pay back to doctors. Thank you Brett Davis for your votes.

With republicans like Davis why didn't he run as a democrat? God forbid Davis is elected, something happens to the next governor and Davis would the be gov. and pick up right where Jim Doyle left off. People like Davis, Diamond Jim Doyle and other democrats got us into this mess. Rino's like Davis is not my choice for Lt gov. You wonder why I have problems with the republican party. They back candidates that are not conservative.

Rebecca Kleefisch - ok, she has no political experience. So! All politicians started some where. Yes, in Wisconsin the Lt Governor's position depending on who the Governor is can be a do nothing position. Look at Bab's Lawton. Rebeeca is married to Joel Kleefisch who is the state representative for the Wisconsin 36th district. You think Rebeeca doesn't know how Madison works? Raising taxes and fee's, raiding doctors and road funds, standing up for voter fraud. What more does she have to know? The bottom line, Kleefisch is a conservative. I see Kleefisch making changes in Madison. Changes we need today. Do you want change or do you want the same old same old?

From her web site

I’m pro-life. I believe life begins at conception and ends at natural death and that we need to respect the dignity of life at all stages.
I believe in our right to protect our families. I’ve received gun training and while I may not yet be an Olympic-caliber marksman, I do know I have a right to protect my family. I believe Concealed Carry would deter crime in Wisconsin. I understand that hunting has been a cherished family tradition in our great state for generations. I will work to protect and respect the rights of responsible gun owners.

With the right governor elected and Rebecca Kleefisch as Lt Gov., we can turn around this mess that Doyle, Lawton, Davis and the rest on the left got us into.

I'm voting for Kleefisch

EPA Grading Cars Can't Work

From Crunch Gear.

The EPA is revising the window stickers seen on new cars to more accurately reflect the capabilities of electric and hybrid vehicles. They’re also proposing, rather boldly, that a big fat letter grade head the sticker, ranging from A+ (for plug-in electric vehicles) to D (for Veyrens and R8's)

How can the EPA expect the younger buyers of vehicles to even know what "A", "B", "C" and "D" stand for. Most students taught today do not get letter grades anymore from the union teachers in school.

It's going to back fire on them, For those that still remember letter grades, what are the ones that graduated with all "D's" supposed to do. They will buy the gas guzzling SUV's and trucks because that is the only letter they know! Then the government will raise their taxes for buying such a vehicle. The poor children can't win. The superior intellect of government today.

Will the EPA now tell teachers across the country to go back to giving grades with letters A to D? That might be an improvement!

Reid Ribble, "Young Gun"

From You Tube and the RNC.

Seems the RNC has chosen their candidate in the Wisconsin 8th District, Reid Ribble before the Wisconsin September primary.

If you stop video at about 45 secs., if I'm not mistaken he is on the left side. Maybe I'm wrong. Will someone correct me? Is he not pictured in the spot? Is he not one of the Young Guns?

So we are to follow like sheep on who the anointed candidates are?

My "McDonald's", Mc Triple Sandwich

You need to try this.

You go to McDonald's and order 1 one dollar McDouble and 1 one dollar McChichen sandwich. In your car or at the the table you open both packages and remove the bottom bun on both sandwiches. You take the McChicken and place it on top of the McDouble to make one triple sandwich for only two bucks.

You get two all beef patties, two slices of cheese, ketchup, pickles, mustard, onions, a grilled chicken breast, lettuce , special sauce ( maybe mayo, not sure) and what ever I missed and sink your teeth and taste buds into one of the most cheapest delectable sandwiches in your life.

You know, if McDonald's were thinking, they would save one bun. How much is that worth? I throw two halves away to make this and they would add to their profit's! That's right, McDonald's are not into profit! Also, the people at McDonald's already know how to make both sandwiches and bottom line, they would save the cost of one bun. Naw, profits are not what they are looking for. Here's an idea, maybe they should come up with a two dollar menu at their stores? Naw, I must be wishful thinking.

Yes, I thought of this and should be compensated for the idea. I'm not asking for much. I am trying to buy Mr's B a blue new Ford Mustang.

If you are looking for a cheap (two buck's) GREAT meal, give it a try.

Steve Kagen Running Scared Part 2

Nancy Pelosi puppet Steve Kagen is doing a 50 stop, 4 day tour of the Wisconsin's 8th district. You can't make this stuff up. The headline,

"Kagen Tour Focuses on Retaining Jobs"

From WBAYChannel 2.

You know WBAY 2 got their headline from Kagen's staff. "Retaining jobs?" What about creating jobs for the people who are out of work? Maybe a better headline would of been,

"Kagen Tour Focuses On Creating Jobs" !!!!!!!

Maybe WBAY who backs Kagen will change their report to the above on Tuesday.

The guy is a PUTZ and is running scared right now!

Is this who should represent you in Washington?
Your vote will count in November.

"Madam", said the newspaper employee, "today is Saturday. The Sunday paper is not delivered until tomorrow, on SUNDAY".
There was quite and long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter,
"Well, crap, that explains why no one was at church today

Visiting 50 cities in 4 days

Updated: Monday, 30 Aug 2010, 10:22 AM CDT
Published : Monday, 30 Aug 2010, 10:10 AM CDT

U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen, D-8th Dist., began a district-wide tour today as he gets into full re-election mode.

Kagen plans to visit 50 cities in four days to meet supporters that have invited him to each city along the way.

The district tour began this morning at the Harmony Café in Green Bay and will take him to Oconto, Oconto Falls, Coleman, Peshtigo, Marinette and other locations to the north. His tour follows the release of polls conducted for some of his republican opponents that show Kagen trailing in the race for Congress.

FOX 11's Mark Leland will have more from the candidates vying for the 8th Congressional District seat tonight on FOX 11 News at Five.

How can you stop at 12 - 15 towns and places per day in the district and be able to meet the voters? I bet if he see a group of people on a corner he will wave and drive through. Yep, we seen them.

This is what you call drive by campaigning. If there is one tea party person, you know for sure he won't stop.

What a putz!

Update, 4:00 pm,

After thinking about this post I hope the main stream media, (Fox 11) will call it like it is, Steve Kagen is running scared for his 8th district seat in Wisconsin. Why would he do 50 stops in only four days.

Makes you kind of wonder?

Ribble, Residency Question?

Did I miss something last week? From the Appleton Post Crescent

The Ribble poll was made public Thursday morning and was welcomed news for a candidate trying to overcome questions about his residency in the district and his immigration stance.

Who asked him about his residency? Where was it reported about his residency? Oh, you mean the post over at the Party of Know from the August 27th article from J S Online?

At the end of the article, the JS lists some short bio material on each candidate. Here's the entry for Reid Ribble...

Reid Ribble

Age: 54

Address; time in district: 1959 Schuring Road, De Pere; 30 years.

Occupation: Full-time candidate; previously owned roofing and recording companies.

Elective offices: None.

Other government experience: None.

Education: Graduated from Appleton East High School; attended Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music, Grand Rapids, Mich.

Family: Married, two children.

So what? Well, first of all their is no 'Shuring Road' in De Pere so I can only assume they mean 'Scheuring Road', right? Well? According to Google Maps, '1959 Scheuring Road' is a lot next to the Community First Credit Union in an area zoned commercial. Here's the Google Maps streetview of 'Reid's address'...
If you go to his post you can see a picture of Ribble's residence.

Wait a minute.

Where does he live?

Sherwood which is in the 6th Congressional district or in the 8th Congressional district?

He's lived in the 8th district for 30 years?

So when Reid was 24, he moved to DePere?

Where did J S Online get their information? Maybe Dan Bice should clarify the article information. Should or did they already come out with a correction to their article?

What I read or heard from WTAQ's Jerry Bader's debate of the three candidates last Friday, Jerry and the other three people posing questions didn't bring it up. That was disappointing.

Will someone in the media please put this question to bed. If Ribble lives in the 6th and it's no big deal to the voters, fine, admit it! If he lives at the above address ( an empty lot) in DePere, then fine too. Why would the Ribble campaign give out different information? Where does he live? Will Mr. Ribble put out a press release to clarify this? I would say, don't hold your breath.

This has to be addressed before the primaries or you will see it as an October surprise.

"T" Shows Up, Ribble Must Still Live In The 6th

Not a lot of time. A gal at Berry Lake getting married today.

Read tweets over at Party of Know on the Wisconsin 8th debate held at WTAQ. Thankjs Todd. Second, thank you to Jerry Bader for the debate.

Did anyone ask Ribble about where he lives. 6th or 8th district?

Did you see that "T" even attended!

Got to run. More on the 8th when I have time.

A Painter Too

From The Shawano Leader.

From my days in the Gillett Area. I knew Ms. Wilke raises horses and dogs but didn't know she was an artist.

With careful strokes of her brush, Diane Wilke of Gillett creates the image of a bear, part of a large painting she has been working on with Menominee Indian High School sophomore Leo Powless for the past week. Wilke said they’ve been working on the painting — located on a set of the gym doors at the high school — for a combined 40 hours. Wilke has done paintings throughout the area through her business, Wilke Western Art. Leader photo by Cory Dellenbach

Good for her.

Pembine School District Gets $106

From The Peshtigo Times

Fifteen area school districts will receive federal funding to retain or hire additional teachers and education staff in the 2010-11 school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Administration. A total of $179 million is allocated to state public schools.

Area school districts and the amount of funding are Pembine $106, Coleman $207,055, Crivitz $360, Florence $514, Gillett $127,540, Goodman $190, Lena $76,550, Marinette $427,439,

I wonder what Pembine will do with their $106?

Niagara $66,488, Oconto $198,403, Oconto Falls $372,962, Peshtigo $155,265, Suring $183, Wabeno $153, and Wausaukee $230.

And Wabeno gets $106. Surprise, surprise.

Wis. No-Call List By Wednesday

The Green Bay Press has information on adding your phones to the No Call list. .

Wisconsin residents have until Wednesday to sign up for the state's no-call list to block phone calls from telemarketers.

People can sign up by calling (866) 966-2255.

Here Comes The Fox Valley Choo Choo

From the Green Bay Press.

A large-scale study of socioeconomic conditions in Brown, Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago counties launched Wednesday, starting a 1½-year project aimed at improving quality of life. The goal of the Leading Indicators for Excellence, or LIFE, study is to give leaders, businesses, foundations and government agencies a blueprint for providing social services using a combination of qualitative and quantitative information.

Sure enough, the next step on getting light rail in the Fox Valley. You know it's for the children. It's for the poor. We have to do something for those who don't have. All for the ultimate goal of getting Green Bay connected to Appleton and Oshkosh with Choo Choo's.

How foolish are you that you would believe this nonsense. You think I'm crazy? If you read the article, you will read that Appleton did a study in 2006. And what were some of the results?

Among the programs developed from the 2006 study is The Connector, a transportation system that provides rides to low-income residents who don't have easy access to bus service.

Fitst do a study. Second tell everyone you have transportation problems. Third propose a light rail system to alleviate the congestion on HWY 41. That's when they got you. Silly fools.

First Milwaukee to Madison and some day soon Green Bay to who knows where. Remember, it's your money they are talking about.

Steve Kagen Will tell You Diffrent

From the Green Bay Press.

The U.S. Navy said Monday it is seeking additional information from the companies competing for the contract to build the next phase of ships in the Littoral Combat Ship program.

Lockheed Martin and Marinette Marine are players in the contract competition and are facing off against Austal USA and General Dynamics for the Navy contract to build 10 warships under the next phase of the contract. If Marinette Marine lands the contract, it could double the work force at the yard by the middle of 2013.

If Marinette Marine gets the contract you can be sure Steve Kagen will take credit. He has nothing to do with military contracts but will tell you it was all him in an upcoming T V spot or mailer from his office. The workers at M Marine should also know Kagen has nothing to do with their job security.

Steve Kagen needs to go in November.

X Green Bay Packer Not A Tea Party Activist?

The Green Bay Press has an article talking about Bob Long joining a "Spending Revolt".

He was even there with that evil Joe the plumber. No mention of "Tea Party". What gives? Just because an X Green Bay Packer was there, the P G gives him a pass?

The slant of the main stream media.

Steve Kagen, Killing The American Dream

From the Green Bay Press

Sales of previously occupied homes plunged last month to the lowest level in 15 years, despite the lowest mortgage rates in decades and bargain prices in many areas.

July's sales fell by more than 27 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.83 million, the National Association of Realtors said Tuesday. It was the largest monthly drop on records dating back to 1968, and sharp declines were recorded in all regions of the country.
15 year low?Down by 27 %? Who is destroying the American dream of home ownership?

You have to blame Nancy Pelosi puppet Steve Kagen and his dem buds for all this bad news.

Wasn't the stimulus supposed to fix all this? Isn't this the summer of recovery? Where are all the jobs? Why are people not buying houses with the lowest interest rate in years or ever?

Steve Kagen said he, congress and the president were going to fix all this.
Do we really need more bad news and another two years of Steve Kagen? I don't think so.

You Got To Give Stupak Credit

From the Escanaba Daily Press.

ESCANABA - Broadband service is about to expand in and around Delta County, thanks to a $69 million grant. The grant, which is dispersed through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is part of $81 million awarded to broadband providers in the state of Michigan.

The Peninsula Fiber Network (PFN) is taking the reigns on development and expansion of the fiber optic network, which provides various broad service offerings, such as high-speed Internet to Upper Peninsula communities. PFN is based in Munising and currently has approximately 800 miles of fiber lines running throughout the U.P.

The grant is expected to help boost the existing lines by installing more than 600 miles of new fiber optic cable.

One, I am not a fan of the stimulus bill passed by congress.

Two, for all the waste, here is something that is at least worth the money the spend. 6oo miles of fiber optic to give more people advantage of HS internet. You know Bart Stupak had something to do with this.

Three, as I sit here with dial up, this just ticks me off!

What does Wisconsin do with stimulus for high speed internet. From WTN

The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced that Wisconsin will receive more than $38 million in Broadband Technology Opportunities Program grants funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), also known as the stimulus. The University of Wisconsin System will be the main beneficiary, receiving nearly $30 million to help the University of Wisconsin-Extension Service (UWEX) offer broadband to up to 182 community institutions, as well as $2.4 million to create seven public computer centers and develop targeted programs to increase broadband usage in five needy communities.

A majority goes to government (UW) and computers to places that already have them and a couple of communities. Talk about waste. You can see how Nancy Pelosi puppet Steve Kagen gives money to his union buddies and government for votes compared to a half way decent congressman like Bart Stupak.

You have to give Stupak credit for spending stimulus that at least will in the end, help the people that need it.

Give Stupak credit. Just shows how Steve Kagen should not be reelected this fall. What a loser.

Ahead Of The Bell

From YAHOO Financial.

Oil prices slumped to near $72 a barrel Tuesday

Stock futures retreated Tuesday.

July home sales likely to plunge.

Dems and libs must be doing cartwheels about now.

How's that hope and change doing for you?

Is It Me??????????

Just wondering if anyone is having problems with Google Firefox or is it just my dial up PC?

Since yesterday, slow, slow , slow.

I know I have dial up but, it is slower then molasses in January.

Almost threw the PC through the bullet proof glass.

Any thoughts?

Steve Kagen Ad, No Charge

The Green Bay Press propped up the campaign for Nancy Pelosi puppet Congressman Steve Kagen of Wisconsin. A long article but opens with a thank you to Kagen. This helps Kagen not spend his own money.

Oh brother.

I Had The Same Ribble Question

Kerry Thomas via Party of Know had a question about Wisconsin 8th District candidate Reid Ribble. Party of Know is unconfortable with it. I guess I'm in the same boat.

Ribble lives in the 6th District, not the 8th

(see map). Oh, sure, he says he does business in the 8th. I know quite a few people who do business in the 8th but don’t live here. They’re not residents. They can’t vote here.

Because I do blog, and am a concerned voter in the Wisconsin 8th I thought I would ask Mr Ribble the question of residency. Here's what I asked him on Oct 26, 2009.

Mr. Ribble,

could you please tell me if you live in the 8th district of Wisconsin or in specifically the 6th district of Wisconsin?

If you are not in the 8th, what are your plans? Do you not have to live in the district you are running for office for, the 8th? Just want you to clarify.

Could you please give me any information that will clear up my question.

Here is his response on Oct 27, 2009.

Paul,

thanks for contacting me. I would much rather you ask questions of me directly rather than believing the rumor mill.

I do live just a couple miles outside the district. I have stated this from the beginning of my campaign and who knows, with all the gerrymandering that goes on I may be smack dab in the middle of the 8th district after the next census. As a lifelong Fox Valley resident I have lived in and out of the 8th district several times. As you may know the southern border changes a lot. (At one time it was as far north as Green Bay)

I grew up in the 8th district, went to high school in the district, my business is in the district, most of my work and projects are in the district, I coached high school volleyball for 20 years in the district. As a lifelong resident of this area, I know this district and the issues facing it, and I have a vision for Wisconsin and America that I believe matches this district's values. I have the background and roots in this district that makes me exceptionally qualified to serve the residents of District 8 and that is what I will do each and every day in Congress.

Additionally, if the U.S. Constitution isn't concerned where I sleep at night I think the voters might not be concerned either. Since you are a conservative, I am sure that you appreciate the U.S. Constitution’s take on this and know that there is no requirement to live in a district - just the state. Let's not get distracted from seeing the big picture issues facing all Americans. The economy, jobs, taxes, two ongoing wars, etc, etc. Hopefully this answer satisfies your concern about where I sleep at night. Would it now make a difference if I choose to move to Kaukauna where my business is? Would the accusations go away or be worse? Unlike many candidates I have been honest and forth coming about where I live instead of renting an apartment or living in a hotel as some others did. In fact I have lived in the Fox Valley all of my life and made my career there and since Congressman Kagen seems so out of touch with what this country, state and district needs I am happy to campaign for real change.

If I can answer any more questions or you would like to meet me please let me know.

Sincerely,

Reid
Interesting.

Then I had a couple of emails back and forth with Kerry Niemcek, a Ribble spokesperson. I asked if Reid would answer some other questions in the future about issues in the Wis. 8th. Also, a side note, not sure why but Reid did offer to talk to me about political issues. You know a one on one. I politely turned it down. I was not comfortable with a one on one sit down. Here is Kerry's response to me on May 21, 2010.

Paul,

We welcome the opportunity to answer questions for your blog. Reid would be interested in answering questions for your blog. Forward them at your convenience.
In answer to your P.S.: Reid has a residence in the Town of Lawrence, which is in the 8th Congressional District.
That said, the house in Sherwood has been on the market since last summer. Until the market improves and the house is sold, he remains the owner.

I still have my concerns about voting for Reid Ribble because of this and other issues that are playing out. As Todd at Party of Know did ask, I too wonder if Jerry Bader or someone else in the press will ask Mr Ribble about this.

Saturday Push, Testicle Festival

Just a couple of random thoughts going into the rest of the weekend.

Had the pleasure of watching my grand son this past week. Went all the way to the junction for ice cream on the ATV. He's my favorite grandson. ( only have one so far)

Kyle Bush won truck race and Nationwide. Will he do trifecta tonight at Bristol? Let's hope for the best for the # 5 tonight.

Another dog killed by Peshtigo Brook Grey wolf pack. That makes three this year. I also hear a plane flying the area for 2 - 3 hours. a night. Wonder if the feds are trying to take out the pack? It's national forest and I would think the WDNR is out of the loop. Need to investigate.

Another pot bust in Marinette County. Wow, this is getting out of hand. Good for the feds and all who helped with the bust.

10th annual Testicle Festival in Breed, Wis. this afternoon. Some say they taste like potato chips, others say they are like chicken nuggets. I guess I'll find out. I read some post, "after a few beers, they taste like meatballs", I'm glad the neighbor is driving.

"But Let Us Be Clear"

A great post from Marketplace.

But let us be clear about one thing: The tea party movement is not seeking a junior partnership with the Republican Party, but a hostile takeover of it.

The American values of individual freedom, fiscal responsibility and limited government bind the ranks of our movement. That makes the tea party better than a political party. It is a growing community that can sustain itself after November, ensuring a better means of holding a new generation of elected officials accountable.

They Call Them Rural

What a bunch of CRAP!

From the Green Bay Press.

$30 Million Targeted For Rural Broadband Expansion

WASHINGTON — As many as 139,000 households and 9,000 businesses could benefit from nearly $30 million in new economic stimulus funding announced Wednesday to expand high-speed Internet service in rural Wisconsin.

The money will go to the University of Wisconsin-Extension for a project to link 182 community institutions — including colleges, health-care facilities, government buildings, libraries, public safety agencies and K-12 schools — in the Chippewa Valley region, Platteville, Superior and Wausau.

Wouldn't you think that all the places that are getting the money already have broadband? Then there are some like I that still have dial up because I live in the boonies. Who is considered rural and who is just getting money to peeeeee away?

What a bunch of CRAP!

I'm A What?

Are they talking about little old me and other good people?

First I see a post over at Rhymes With Clown, then a post by Party of Know.

For God's sake, we're "conservative neocon establishment bloggers"? Where in the heck did this guy pull this, out of his butt? Here's the link. I had to look up neocon just to see if I was one. Doesn't look like it to me. Aaron over at the Republican Liberty Caucus must of been smoken some good weed. Wonder if he got it from the fields in the Nicolet forest!

"The Case For Terri McCormick."

So far their smear tactics have only added fuel to her candidacy. Quite clearly the bloggers at PartyofKnow, “RhymeswithClown”, and “BerryLaker” are desperate to defeat Terri McCormick.
Holy cow, I thought I was just voicing my opinion on who I will vote for for the Wisconsin 8th race this fall. "Adding fuel to her candidacy", maybe she needs another campaign mgr., three bloggers must be getting her a little ticked. I guess I need to explain my position on Terri McCormick.

First, Aaron, you can check but the last political donation I made was to, yes John Gard, I think back in 08. Gard ran a terrible campaign and I was disappointed in the 08 election against puppet Steve Kagen. In 08 I tried my best to give my opinion on Kagen but obviously the voters of Wisconsin spoke. Also that year comes McCain and it really ticked me off. After that election I got so ticked at the republican party that I pretty much wrote them off. I'm saying to my self, where in the hell is this party going?

As far as my blogging, I'm just a guy in the north woods. Big whoop. Me, a guy in the Nicolet and who listens to me anyway. Now to Terri McCormick.

I do not think "T" is a good candidate to run against Steve Kagen. Let's see. I hear after the 06 campaign a lot of her volunteers went to the Kagen camp. Did she tell them to do anything they could to defeat Gard. How vindictive can she be? That's when I started to see the real side of "T".

Then I am called a rabid conservative from one of her supporters.

Then T said some bloggers in the 8th are not happy with her because

"are mad at me because I dared to challenge the most unpopular Republican in the state in a 2006 primary for Congress."

She still cannot forget 06, can she? No big deal. Then the news that most of her campaign money came from Nevada gamblers. How much support is she getting from the average people in the Wisconsin 8th district? Makes a voter wonder.

Then last week there was a forum for the republicans running for the 8th and she was not even there. Here's the story from the Shawano Leader. She sends a representative. Anyone else thing that was just a little odd? Obviously you people in the Shawano area are not worth her time. And I'm a NEOCON?

Why don't you knobs accuse me of being prejudice against "T" for bring a women. Let's see, I would vote any day for Sarah Palin, Rebecca Kleefisch is my choice for Lt. Gov., so I must be against women. Wow, what a evil NEOCON am I?

Because "T" got shafted back in 06, we the voters should just crown her the republican nominee? She brags about wanting to be only a two term congressman. Why didn't she stay longer being in the Wisconsin legislature? She gets bored of things, so one term or two for her would work out just fine. Maybe the reason she wants to get to Washington is so she can rub elbows with the elites in DC!
Sure she can sell more books and be a high flying consultant and make the big money after she get's to Washington! I can just hear her say, you peons in Wisconsin just get me there and I will finally be important, My crap doesn't stink but yours sure does!

For God's sake! There is no way I can back a candidate with an attitude and a ax to grind. "T"and all you flakes out there, I am a conservative first and republican second. You tin hat nuts are what's wrong with this country. But you go ahead, call normal Americans who love this GREAT country NEOCON's or what ever names you want. What a bunch of CRAP! I think that does it.

Anybody else want to take a swing at us?

Pot Bust In The Nicolet.

I heard just a snippet on the way to the NASCAR race.

Wow, 50,000 plants. Wonder how close to the compound this was? I haven't really explored the Nicolet so far but I know this can happen anywhere. The Nicolet is a big forest and anything could happen. Glad they found it and got rid of it.

You can go to JSOnline for one of the many stories.

Chicago, Moscow, MIS and Back

What a GREAT vacation.

Last Wednesday took 294 around Chicago, nice road , don't understand the different toll charges for a truck and camper but better then going through Chicago. Cruised the Indiana tollway for under 10 bucks. I 69 into Michigan and east on HWY 12 to MIS for our NASCAR weekend. And yes, we did drive through Moscow Michigan.

Again, had great people next to us from Stanwood Mi. who kept the hot week enjoyable. Friday qualifying, Saturday Nationwide won by Brad Kesowlowski and Sunday sitting high in turn 3 was Kevin Harvick day. Yea, yea, the # 5 looked pretty pathetic after Scott Speed the # 82 was to blame for Martin ripping up the splitter on the car.

My love needed to get away and our two NASCAR weeks in Michigan is the only way to do it.

What a GREAT time. I guess 2011 will be fathers day weekend and August 21st.

Wonder what I missed while I was gone?

Sorry, no pictures, Blogger won't let e download.

I Know Who Will Be In the Chase

From NASCAR.com

Michigan, Bristol, Atlanta and Richmond -- those are the final four races before the Chase field is set and the 10-race postseason begins. The top 11 in points all have a 100-point cushion from 13th, so barring a major collapse, look to be in the Chase field.

So there is one spot up for grabs, with two drivers, Mark Martin and Clint Bowyer, separated by just 10 points. Two drivers, one position, which one will end up racing for the championship?

As Owen at B & S would say, "OFF DUTY till Tuesday.

Taking my LOVE to MIS

Steve Kagen, Tammy Baldwin Want More Body Bags

From the Green Bay Press.

Kagen said the U.S. can’t afford to keep the military in Afghanistan without making drastic reductions to the standard of living at home.

Picture is of Nancy Pelosi puppet Steve Kagen.

So we bailed out Wall street, G M and Chrysler and Steve Kagen tells you we would have to cut back on your life to protect our troops. Stop wasting money on buying votes and we could give our troops in Afghanistan the help they need.

It's your president, Mr. Kagen who is in charge of the war. Why doesn't he tell his president to crap or get off the pot! If Kagen wants our troops to come home in defeat and get spit on as what happened in Vietnam, then bring it on. Kagen and Baldwin are in campaign mode and is looking for support from the loony left.

Kagen and Baldwin were among those who voted last month against further funding for the war in Afghanistan.

So Kagen and Baldwin didn't propose a vote to cover body bags for our dead hero's?

So will vets stand with Steve Kagen and Tammy Baldwin in the upcoming election or take a stand and denounce these two politicians from Wisconsin. Pity for those vets who are die hard democrats and will sell out their brothers for the sake of electing the likes of Kagen and Baldwin.

Kagen and Baldwin just want more body bags to get re elected.

An Angel To Heaven

My favorite brother in law's ( the only one I have and will always be my favorite) mother passed away this afternoon at 3:00 pm.

God bless you dear.

For you came into this world and gave me the chance to meet your son.

How blessed am I to have been able to know you.

Lord, now take her soul to heaven.

What a GREAT Day

Been kind of light on the blog lately. Sorry about that.

Friday had to go pick up Mrs B in Milwaukee, did some power buying at Woodmans in Green Bay for the upcoming week. Mrs B bought a Colman 327 can, yes, that's a little over 27 12pks of beverage's of your choice, (keeps food and drinks cold for up to seven days) cooler. You almost could bury me in it. Maybe we should call it the coffin.

Saturday, picked up a new fridge and freezer. Thank God I have some GREAT neighbors across the road and a great daughter and son in law. What would we do without you. The old Berry Lake neighbor hooked up the ice machine and we were good to go. Cut up bears campfire wood and it was nice to have Berry Laker daughter and family stay for dinner.

Up this morning at 5:00 am. Coffee and off to be at our church's parishioner's picnic, set up at 7:00 am. I got to help cook elk and beef burgers again this year. We are a small parish (Catholic church) but for parishioners and family, all was free. No big raffles, no fund raiser for the church, just something nice for those who belong to our parish, Thanks to cousin Julie and husband Gary for doing BINGO. Just a nice time. Berry Laker daughter talked to Father Jim about joining the parish. Good for her and her family.

I have to tell you about Father Jim. He is a John Deere fanatic. Don't tell him my son in law has a Simplicity lawn tractor. I think he is seventy and could pull apart and fix any tractor, sink or anything mechanical. When he does his sermon, it's to the point and helps us understand what the day's reading should mean to us and us to God. Some how belonging to a church where my grand parents are buried some how is bringing me closer in my faith to God. By the way when cousin gets pictures up on the web site I will let you know what we all enjoyed today.

2:00 pm, took Berry Laker's mom home and had to leave. I felt bad for leaving early (didn't get to help with the clean up after the picnic) but had to take Mrs B to Milwaukee and switch vehicles and bring the truck back to the compound to get ready for the upcoming pilgrimage to MIS Speedway.

Oh, I almost forgot. The # 5 took 19th and is 12th in the chase. YAHOOOOOO!!!!!

Well after over 400 miles on the road and a great day with the people of Krakow Wisconsin, I thank You Lord for all the good things You have given me. I know at least You read my blog and I just want to say thank you.

What a great, but long day.
