Kagen wants dairy appropriation to go through MILC program

U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen said today he wants most of the $290 million in direct aid to dairy farmers included in the 2010 Agriculture Appropriations Bill to go through the MILC program.
" WisPolitics DC Wrap: Kagen wants dairy appropriation to go through MILC program

So we have a bill that Steve Kagen wants $290 million in dairy appropriation to go through MILC program. It's good our congressman is trying to do good for his constituents when bills are being discussed and written.
The appropriations bill was signed today by President Barack Obama. The bill includes $350 million in aid to dairy farmers -- $60 million to buy cheese and other dairy products to bring down surpluses, and $290 million in general aid. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will determine how the $290 million is divided.

Wait a minute, help me here, Obama signed the bill? A done deal? Congressman Kagen, did you miss something here? Did you not vote for this bill? What is Kagen saying, when did this happen, was I in the bathroom with Chaney?

So Vilsack will determine where the money goes? Was that in the bill? What did Steve Kagen vote for? Did he not read the bill? Will someone fill me in here? This is CRAZY! Vilsack will give the money to government employee's and farmers will a buck two eighty!
Kagen said he expressed to Vilsack his wish that 80 percent of the aid be distributed through the MILC program, instead of creating a new program to dispense the aid, and the other 20 percent can be distributed through a different format.

He wished Vilsack would give 80% through the MILC? How was the bill written? Did President Obama sign a blank check to Vilsack and Kagen is in front of the candy window hoping to get some gum drops?
"It makes sense to use an existing program," Kagen said this morning during a conference call with reporters.
What? A conference call with reporters? Did anyone ask him what gives? Why wasn't it spelled out in the bill? Did the media ask Kagen if he read the bill? What the heck is he wishing for!
Kagen, a member of the House Committee on Agriculture and the Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy and Poultry, said dairy farmers are struggling with historic lows for their products.
Farmers are getting shafted by Kagen, Vilsack and Obama and $290 million will be wasted. You farmers out there will see little or no money. They want your farms SHUT DOWN!
"Hopefully the floor will now be firmed up and prices will come back to allow our farm families to be profitable and successful," he said.

What did that mean? Prices will come back before the money even goes out? What the heck is he talking about! What will Kagen say if the floor doesn't firm up?
Kagen said the money should begin to flow to Wisconsin farmers in late November or early December.
He's wishing Vilsack will direct money to MILC ( he has no clue) and then says they will get money in November / December? Does Steve Kagen even know what's going on?

Kagen also said that he hasn't made up his mind yet on the merits of Obama's proposal to cut $250 checks to seniors to make up for a lack of a cost of living increase in Social Security.

"I think we have to address those people who need help the most," Kagen said. "Senior citizens living on fixed incomes need our support. I will take a look at the bill, but I haven't determined yet if that might be the best way of taking care of our seniors."
People of the 8th district, he waiting for poll numbers to come in! Don't worry, Kagen loves giving away free money to get votes for 2010!

You poor farmers out there. Your going to get shafted, government will step closer and closer to your farm and they will stop at nothing to take you over. Join the rest of us!
