You Got To Give Steve Kagen And The Local Unions Their Due

Remember last Wednesday night.

Steve Kagen and twenty plus unions held their health care rally at UWGB. See the "thank you " posters. "Standing together for health", sure, sure, They didn't see it coming.

Remember this sign up table. You sign your name and they give you a nice sticker to put on your shirt. I'm not sure but I thought it said, Public Option" Remember the chants from the union crowd for public health care. You have to feel sorry for all these people. They worked and organized and found a couple hundred of the rank and file to back Obama, Kagen and Obamacare. And what happens today? From Drudge and Politico.
"Under fire, President Obama shifts strategy

Aides to President Barack Obama are putting the final touches on a new strategy to help Democrats recover from a brutal August recess by specifying what Obama wants to see in a compromise health care deal and directly confronting other trouble spots, West Wing officials tell POLITICO. "

And although House leaders have said their members will demand the inclusion of a public insurance option, Obama has no plans to insist on it himself, the officials said.

Ouch!
On health care, Obama’s willingness to forgo the public option is sure to anger his party’s liberal base. But some administration officials welcome a showdown with liberal lawmakers if they argue they would rather have no health care law than an incremental one. The confrontation would allow Obama to show he is willing to stare down his own party to get things done.

Public Option off the table. That's got to hurt! How does Congressman Kagen and the unions feel right now?

President Obama just threw them under the bus, Obama and Kagen on a plane going down and Obama jumps out with the only parachute, Kagen and the unions are on the titanic and Obama took all the lifeboats, their president just cut the wind from their sails, they got blind sided, they just got screwed, or how about their President just peed on their shoe from the next urinal in the men's room. They fought hard for the public option and today, gone. How do they feel? OUCH!
.
I have to give Congressman Kagen and the union's credit for standing up for what they were told and today they have to feel like crap. I hope they know what the president did today. You have to give them their due. I don't agree with them but I feel their pain.

.
Wait a minute, wait one dog gone minute. I just remembered being called a right wing mob, a nut, I got a post the other day that said I was a "F@#$%^ something", I take it all back. If Steve Kagen and the unions are that stupid for letting someone tell them what to do, what to say, where to go and then get left out in the cold, It's their own fault. They should know better. Politics can get sooooooooo ugly!
