Must See Walker Press Conference Today

Seems a little P O'd.

Take the dems to the WOOD SHED!!!!!!!!!

From Wisconsin Eye.

You need to click watch.

Update. Through the whole interview, did anyone bring up Jim Holperin?

Jimbo is crapping in his pants and is not sure who to listen to, what to say or what to do. He hasn't the guts to make a decision on his own.

Jim Holperin is bought and paid for by the unions and has to go.

Let us move forward with his recall and take him away from an office he is incapable of holding.

RECALL JIM!

What Would Scott Walker Do If Not For Lee Hollaway

What would of happened if it was not for Scott Walker fighting tooth and nail the past eight years with Lee Hollaway?

We have to thank Lee for preparing Mr Walker for his job in Madison. No one else could prepare Walker for the job he now holds. The down right dirty politics that Walker is now going through and what he faces in the future.

We can see Scott Walker stands for what he believes in and will stand with the tax payers of Wisconsin in what the voters of this state elected him and other republicans to do. He is standing in the storm of the main stream media and union intimidation and so far has not wavered.

He cannot waver, he will not waver, for if he does, the future of Wisconsin will be gone forever. Our children and grandchildren will know that their future was in the hands of one man and a group of republican officials who gave them their destiny or will forever throw them into their abyss.

Thank you Lee Hollaway for getting Scott Walker ready to be our Governor. With out you, our children's future would of been lost.Let's all thank Lee Hollaway.

A reminder of Mr Hollaway. Thank You for all you did!

Seems MATC Wasn't Done Yet

Date: Mon, 07 Mar 2011 17:32:51 -0600
Subject: Message from Dr. Burke
Dr. Burke asked that I send the following message on his behalf:

Earlier today the MATC District Board approved an agreement with members of Local 587. Negotiations began in mid-February and final agreement was reached last week.

The agreement will result in net savings of more than $4.2 million over two years. While Local 587 members will receive 1.5% salary increases over the next two years, they will be making contributions toward their pension benefit and increased healthcare contributions.

This agreement, like the one reached last month with Local 212, provides stability for the college and allows us to maintain our focus on the mission of the college - educating our students and serving the community. These agreements also allow us to maintain collective bargaining, which we recognize as an important principle and value.

Recent announcements from Madison create extremely challenging financial times for MATC and educational and governmental organizations throughout the state. We will continue to develop budget strategies that help preserve the meaningful work that takes place on our campuses every day.

Like It Or Not, " The Governor Is Absolutely Right."

From Richard Moore

Home - Richard Moore:

"How many times have we heard the lament: If only we had a leader who wouldn’t stick his or her finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing, who wouldn’t govern by reading the polls every morning?

We’ve all asked that question at one time or another. We’ve all wished for someone who would act according to principles rather than polls.

Like his principles or not, we’ve got such a leader. In fact, Gov. Scott Walker took to his Twitter account this past weekend to pass along an article from the Weekly Standard – more about that in a second – which Walker termed “a good reminder why long-term leadership matters more than temporary poll watching.”

The governor is absolutely right."

Like it or not, you need to read the whole article and ask yourself how can you not agree with Scott Walker.

Buy Walker T Shirt, Get Even With Union Thugs

Steve fills us in on the dirty tricks unions are pulling in Wisconsin.

Marketplace of Ideas Blog:

When a Two Rivers High School student wore a green T-shirt supporting Gov. Scott Walker to school in late February, it set off a dispute involving a local business and the president of the Two Rivers Education Association.

B&D Embroidery & Screen Printing in Two Rivers made the shirt for the student on request, said Bridget VanGinkel, owner of the business with her husband, David. …

"On Feb. 24, VanGinkel said the business received what they perceived as a veiled threat of a boycott in an e-mail from Wes Glenna, president of the TREA and chairman of the technical education department at the high school.

Bridget VanGinkel forwarded to the Herald Times Reporter Glenna’s e-mail, sent from his school e-mail address after 10 p.m. It said:

“I was recently informed that you have plans to print pro-Walker shirts for some of the students in the Two Rivers School system. After checking out your website, I noticed that a great deal of your business comes from providing apparel to the Two Rivers, Manitowoc, and Mishicot school systems. I, really, don’t know what you’re thinking of.

“We, all, greatly appreciate the fact that you established your business in our community. However, have you taken the time to figure out how your recent decision could result in the loss of profits to your business?”

It was signed Wes Glenna, President, Two Rivers Education Association.

Glenna also sent the e-mail to all members of the teachers union in the Two Rivers district, VanGinkel said.

The store has been getting mostly negative phone calls and comments on Facebook since Glenna sent the e-mail, she said.

“It’s spreading like wildfire,” she said. “It was inappropriate. It’s not right.”"

Let's support businesses that are being threatened from the unions. Two can play that game.

T Shirt you can buy from B & D Embroidery.  or buy something else from them.

One Way To Save County & Town Expenses

Corn the solution to road-snowdrift problem? | wausaudailyherald.com | Wausau Daily Herald

"In a pilot program tested in southern Wisconsin, farmers left eight to 16 rows of corn standing in fields parallel to highways at the end of the growing season. The corn rows prevented snow from drifting onto the highways.

'It worked. The county gets calls over and over again that this intersection is so bad. But this year, it wasn't as near as bad as other years,' said Floyd Shirk of Lancaster, whose farm is along the intersection of highways 35 and 81 in Grant County.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation compensates farmers for not harvesting the corn they plant near highways. Farmers are paid 50 cents per bushel above the price paid for the crop."

Hey, if it works, let's do it. It's better then paying them for ethanol!

Possible Retirements Up, Hummmmmmmmm

Received this from an E mail from a friend in Townsend, Interesting
Special message regarding retirement-related statistics:
The Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) provides the following Wisconsin Retirement
System (WRS) statistics as a courtesy to interested parties, including members of
the media. Our primary focus is to provide services to WRS members and employers. In the
wake of the budget repair bill, we are struggling to keep up with all who want information from
us. Yet, we understand the need to have this sort of information available. Please keep the
following in mind:

• ETF will not update these or any other statistics on a daily basis. For now, we will update
this document periodically or whenever new statistics become available.

• ETF does not ask members why they are retiring.

• 73% of WRS active employees are local government employees; 27% are state employees.

• During the week of February 14-18, 2011, ETF received more than three times the number
of requests for retirement estimates than it did the same week in 2010.

• During the week of February 21-25, 2011:

• ETF received 1,282 requests for retirement estimates.

• ETF received 574 retirement applications.

Retirement Estimate Requests — January-February 2010 vs. 2011
The table below compares the number of requests for formal retirement estimates received
by ETF in January and February 2010 and 2011. Figures show that as of February 25, 2011, the

Are These The Teachers You Want?

If you diagree, find out where you can recall your democratic senator from Wisconsin.

Time To Patronize These Wisconsin Businesses

Gateway Pundit via Dad 29 gives us the crap teachers and their unions are pulling. A good read with more pitures and letters from stupid teachers.

The unions continue to threaten local businesses in Wisconsin.
A trusted source in Wisconsin sent copies of the latest organized threats against Wisconsin businesses.

The attachments are all pictures of notes on the bulletin board in the teacher’s lounge at Wausau West. The person who took the pictures went to Channel 7 with them and was assured that a story would be done. It’s been more than 48 hours and nothing has been aired, so the person sent them to me and gave me permission to forward them to you. This person wishes to remain anonymous. Not sure what the best plan of attack is, but I’m more than glad to help out with anything.

Also, the teachers union leader at WW wanted to set up a table at Trig’s Pharmacy to have kids sign letters to Governor Walker and then they would be given an apple. Trig’s management said NO! Good for them!!

These are some businesses that are being targeted and ones we should patronize.

Wonder If Burmaster Will Take A Pay Cut

The Rhinelander Daily News - Online news and information for the Rhinelander, Wisconsin region

"Nicolet Area Technical College is already making cuts in anticipation of reduced aid from the state in the next fiscal year.

Nicolet College President Elizabeth Burmaster said the school’s 2011-2012 budget process began in November, so she and other school staff were anxiously waiting for Gov. Scott Walker’s budget plans which were finally announced Tuesday."

With all the money Burmaster makes, maybe she should cut her pay

Another Teacher Disciplined, Good

From the Appleton PC

OSHKOSH — The president of the Oshkosh teachers union has been disciplined for using his district e-mail to encourage others to call in sick to work so they could join protests in the state Capitol.

Also, district staff who joined the protests against Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill on Feb. 17 and 18 will not receive any sick leave pay and will have to reimburse the district the cost of a substitute teacher, school officials said Friday.

Extra Day Of School, Teachers Pay Docked, Good!

From the Appleton P C

The addition of a school day wasn't Kimberly's lone remedy for the instruction time lost in February.

Mayfield said the district had difficulty determining how many of their teachers had legitimate cause to miss school Feb. 18. The district, however, was able to identify a number of teachers who didn't have a valid excuse to miss school. Some were docked pay, had the absence documented in their employee file or both.

Appleton schools followed the same path.

On Feb. 17, Appleton schools had 209 staffers call in.

Don Hietpas, chief financial officer for the Appleton Area School District, said administrators followed up on all absences. Those who called in and shouldn't have were docked pay and had the absence noted in their personnel files, he said.

March 4, 2011 - AP

FENNVILLE, Mich. (AP) — A western Michigan high school basketball player collapsed on the court and later died after making the game-winning shot to cap his team’s perfect season.

Holland Hospital spokeswoman Deb Patterson says 16-yer-old Fennville High School basketball player Wes Leonard died Thursday night. A cause of death has not yet been determined.

Patterson says paramedics performed CPR on Leonard before he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Holland Sentinel reported that Leonard had scored the game-winning layup in a 57-55 win over Bridgman in overtime to cap Fennville’s 20-0 season. Leonard fell to the ground after teammates and fans rushed the court."

Oconto County, "this money all comes from taxpayers"

Peshtigo Times reports on what could be $742,000 Less In State Shared Revenue for Oconto County.

Everyone's in the same boat but I thought it was interesting how Oconto County looks at it.I will high lite some in red.

Headline,

Oconto Co. Expects $742,000 Less In State Shared Revenue

Peshtigo Times Wisconsin Community Newspaper:

"That’s why we have to get rid of collective bargaining,” Hamann commented. “Then you can decide what benefits to provide.” He said despite the publicity and the demonstrations going on around the state capitol in Madison there are still questions as to just which employees will be affected by the governor’s proposal to do away with collective bargaining and require certain public employees to pay a percentage of their health insurance and retirement benefits. He believes it applies to everyone except perhaps law enforcement.

Oconto County, Hamann said, will be affected immediately, since all labor contracts expired at the end of 2010. “If it (the budget repair bill) passes, we’ll have to make some big changes right away... We’ll need to eliminate retirement as of March 22....I don’t know if we can get it done that fast.”"

We need to remember that this money all comes from taxpayers,” Supervisor Gerald Gehling commented. “We’re $3 billion in debt!” He said the county cannot continue to provide the level of services that they have, and there will probably be layoffs at all levels. “Personally, I think the governor is on the right track...He’s doing what needs to be done.”

Supervisor Barbara Smith said her son had gone to Madison on Tuesday, when Jesse Jackson was there, just to see what it was like, and told her he found it uplifting. He told her the demonstrators were peaceful and friendly. There were no conflicts, in fact demonstrators on either side of the issue sometimes held signs for one another. Then she added, “Now if they’d just get those –– Democrats out of Illinois....Rockford is my hometown and they’re cluttering it up!”

Nice to live in Oconto County

Will Teachers Union Have This Guy Protesting In Madison?

Teacher facing sexual assault charges

Reporter: Cameron Clark
MARINETTE - A Wausaukee High School teacher is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a female student.

Kurt Kostelecky, 35, has been charged with 11 felonies and one misdemeanor. The alleged incidents happened in Kostelecky's classroom when the girl was a freshman.

The alleged victim is now 17 years old and no longer attends Wausaukee High School."

Wonder if the teachers union will spring this guy out of jail to protest in Madison.? The dems did it for Jeff Wood last December. I wouldn't put it past em.

The GREAT teachers of Wisconsin. We're so proud of you!

Work 30 Days , Get Paid 0ne Year Salary

WLUK Fox 11 did a story on this wacky program in the Green Bay School district. Retire, worlk 10 says a year for three years and get one full year of salary. Holy Cow!!!!!!!!!!

140 teacher retirement requests approved:

"The emeritus program gives one full year's salary paid over three years. That is in addition to pension benefits. In return, the retiree provides 10 days of service to the district each year during that time. The emeritus program is something that has been negotiated into the teachers' contract through collective bargaining.

Last year 26 teachers and staff members applied for the program."

Where in the private sector do people get this when they retire?

Answer, no where. We need to end all collective bargaining including for wages! Get rid of it, decertify the unions and let's start over!

BOMB THREAT At Walker, Where's The News Media? Silent again?

Got this from Real Debate.

BOMB THREAT At Scott Walker News Conference – Leftist Protester Arrested! | The Gateway Pundit:

"Far Left protester Patrick J. Knauf, 43, of Eau Claire was arrested on Wednesday for the violation of making a bomb scare under state statute 947.015."

On Wednesday a bomb threat was made at an aviation business in Eau Claire just hours after Governor Scott Walker spoke there. Police brought in a man who was protesting this week against the Republican governor.

The Pierce County Herald reported:

An investigation continues into a bomb threat made this week at an aviation business in Eau Claire, just hours after Governor Scott Walker held a news conference there.

Authorities said a 43-year-old Eau Claire man allegedly called in a threat to Heartland Aviation on Wednesday evening. The facility is next to the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport in Eau Claire. The man is free on a signature bond. No charges have been filed yet, but the man is due back in Chippewa County Circuit Court on April 19th.

Investigators said the man took part in public demonstrations at the airport on Monday and Wednesday. His home was searched yesterday, and police are checking phone records and interviewing people. Eau Claire Police have asked for tips with more information.

Amazing!
A bomb threat was called in on a Walker rally and the media doesn’t report on it?
Unbelievable.

Why Drink Water

From an e mail

A glass of wine

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine..
And those who don't and are always
seen with a bottle of water in their hand.

As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is freedom,
In water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials,
Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink
1 litre of water each day,
At the end of the year we would have absorbed More than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria
Found in feces.
In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However,
We do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer
(or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor)
Because alcohol has to go through a purification process
Of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
Than to drink water and be full of @#%$ (crap)..

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:
I'm doing it as a public service

Here's to your health in 2011!

What would we do without unionized public employees? Ask yourself that on a Saturday or Sunday, when they have the weekend off.

Mursau on Budget, He's Our Man, Holperin Still Missing

This is a little old ( paper doesn't seem to want to date their articles) but talks about teachers walking off their jobs, empty suit missing Jim Holperin and our great state representative Jim, wait It's Jeff Mursau. The paper can't even get his first name right. Shows the slant of the paper. Here's Mr Mursau's comments.

Way To Go Jeff!!!!!!

FlorenceMiningNews.com:

"State Rep. Jim Mursau, R-Crivitz, a supporter of Walker’s budget repair bill, said he knows the legislation is tough for many people to swallow, but it is necessary.

“This is the first piece of the puzzle because the rest of the budget is going to be even tougher than this — there’s $3.6 billion to account for to get rid of our deficit.”

Collective bargaining has a fiscal impact, he said. With budget cuts to schools and local governments looming, “We need to give them some tools to deal with those cuts and make choices … and not have the unions holding them hostage. The average contract is 15 months.”

The alternative to the budget repair bill is laying off 5,000 to 6,000 state employees and 8,000 10,000 teachers, and that’s not acceptable, he said.

Mursau disagreed that Republicans are “ramming through” the budget repair bill.

During the last session when Democrats controlled the Legislature “we spent $2 billion in stimulus money, and the budget repair bill took 48 hours with no public hearing. This one had a public hearing that went 17 hours, probably one of the longest public hearings.”"

PS, you might want to call or e mail Mursau. He is catching a lot of flak for what he believes in and what a lot more of us believe in, just go thank him.

What They Didn't Tell You About Dan Weidner

So this story from the Shawano Leader talks about how Mr Weidner is there to protect teachers from losing collective bargaining. Oh, what courage for a guy going to Madison so many times.

I sure wish Tiffany would of let her readers know Dan is or was on the board of WEAC, (the teachers union) and a top leader in the Shawano County Democratic Party. Hummmm. And he's even friends with Rep. Gary Tauchen, R-Bonduel. I don't trust Tauchen anyway. I meet him at a Underhill town board meeting and he seems to be in the RINO category. I'm rambling, read the story.

Bonduel teacher on budget battle’s front line

By Tiffany Wilbert
twilbert@shawanoleader.com
Bonduel High School teacher Dan Weidner was back in Madison last weekend.

Weidner was there to protest Gov. Scott Walker’s bill limiting collective bargaining for public employees.

That is not too unusual, as thousands of people have descended on Madison since news of Walker’s proposal spread throughout the state.

Weidner, however, has been there six times, including the weekend.

He took an “Association Day” absence Feb. 16 to lobby local legislators on behalf of the Bonduel Education Association, the local teachers union. Two days later, he jumped in his car after school and made the trip again, staying in Madison as the protests grew even larger Feb. 19-20.

He said he is committed to making sure the voices of the teachers are heard no matter how many times he needs to go and demonstrate.

Santelli, Jobs, Dark Side

From CNBC via Drudge

Santelli: 'Good' Jobs Report Has Dark Side — CNBC, CNBC.com Market and Economy News - CNBC: "We also learned from the February report that the unemployment rate finally trended below the psychologically important 9 percent mark. This is a very big development, considering the rate was pushing the 10 percent level several months ago.

Upon closer scrutiny though, there is another factor contributing to the drop that is not necessarily good news: The official size of the U.S. labor force is shrinking."

Is this considered cooking the books?

Recap, of Holperin Petition Drive

Back home from collecting signatures for the Jim Holperin recall in the town of Mountain.

Couple of comments.

A union guy pulls up, we did small talk for a couple minutes. I was afraid I was going to get beat up, my truck wreaked or something worse. Started the Our Father in my mind. Talked his busy day, the weather and I kept looking at the ground. Where is this going? Finally he says, well, you going to let me sign the petition?

Second couple. While the guy was signing he told me he worked for the UAW and they did nothing for him.

Seems the unions were getting good luck from their members and former members.

Another couple gets out of the car and yells, "Where do I sign the petition!"

Had the honnor of talking to Kevin Barthel, the guy who signed the law suit against Holperin. Nice guy. We talked about how Walker and the republicans can't buckle now. You have to give him a lot of credit for doing what he did.

A truck with a couple in a truck pull up.
Question, "who the rcall for. Answer, Jim Holperin.
Question, Is he a democrat? Answer, yes,
Comment, me the petition! He wanted to sign it bad but had to turn him away, Was not from the 12th district.

I had three cars lined up at once. What a rush.

A lot of nice people who are all sick of what Holperin, the dems and what the protesters are doing in Madison.

Will try Lakewood Saturday.

Oconto County resident sues Holperin over flight to Illinois - The Lakeland Times - Minocqua, WI

"An Oconto County resident has sued state Sen. Jim Holperin (D-Conover) over his flight to Illinois to avoid a vote on Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair bill, asking an Oconto County circuit judge to compel the senator's return through a court order.

Kevin Barthel of Lakewood filed his petition Tuesday. He is seeking a writ of mandamus to force Holperin to attend daily sessions of the state Senate. Under Wisconsin law, a writ of mandamus may be used to compel a public officer to perform a duty which he or she is legally bound to perform."

Judge: Complaint can't force Democrat senator in hiding to return | wausaudailyherald.com | Wausau Daily Herald
BY KATHLEEN FOODY • WAUSAU DAILY HERALD • MARCH 3, 2011

An Oconto County judge ruled Wednesday that the state Senate 'must enforce its own rules' and refused to order state Sen. Jim Holperin to appear in Madison."

Circuit Judge Jay Conley denied a Lakewood man's emergency request that Holperin be ordered to participate in Senate proceedings. Conley said he wasn't convinced that Holperin is violating his duty as a state senator, writing that any damages the state would suffer as a result of Holperin's absence were "speculative."

Holperin of Conover and his fellow 13 Democratic senators have camped out in Illinois for the last two weeks, preventing passage of Gov. Scott Walker's proposal to end most collective bargaining for public employees.

Kevin Barthel of Lakewood filed a complaint Tuesday arguing that Holperin's refusal to return to the Capitol represents a failure to carry out his duties as an elected official. The complaint still can move forward once it is delivered to Holperin.

"Walker's budget proposal also would eliminate all state subsidies to local units of government to pay for recycling and instead use those proceeds to finance a state economic development fund.

The proposal is the biggest change to the state's recycling program since items like aluminum cans and newspapers were prohibited from being thrown in the garbage starting in 1995."

Suppose you share an apartment / house with a few other people. You like to party and don’t mind sharing your stash of weed with the other people you live with so long as you all partake together. Everything is groovy.

Over time you start to notice that you’re the only one really contributing to the merriment. Sure, your roommates kick in a few bucks occasionally, but you’re the one paying the most and taking all the risks by going out and scoring the weed. Naturally, you start being a little more selective about when to break out Mr. Bubbles because there’s only so much you can afford to give away without any significant return for your generosity."

Largest unions pay leaders well, give extensively to Democrats - JSOnline:
By John C. Henry, Center for Public Integrity
March 3, 2011 5:01 a.m"

The Center for Public Integrity found compensation for leaders of the 10 largest unions ranged from $173,000 at the United Auto Workers to $618,000 at the Laborers' International Union of North America, and almost $480,000 for the president of the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees. The latter is the target of GOP governors in Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Kansas.

I like this one. This is the MATC connection.

American Federation of Teachers. Membership: 887,000; assets: $115 million. AFT is the smaller of the two teacher unions and also represents school support staff, higher education faculty and staff, health care professionals and state and municipal employees. At AFT's headquarters in Washington, nine officers and employees earn more than $200,000 a year. Randi Weingarten, who was elected president in 2008, received $428,284 in salary and benefits. Of the $2.4 million donated to political candidates in the past two years, the union gave all but $10,000 to Democrats.

Is $428,284 chunk change? Don't you just love them union dues

Judge Ruling, Oconto County vs James Holperin

I received this from Kevin Barthel about his fight to bring Wisconsin State Senator Jim Holperin back to Wisconsin .

KEVIN BARTHEL STATEMENT ON PETITION
FILED IN OCONTO COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT VS STATE SENATOR JIM HOLPERIN

I have filed a citizen’s petition against Senator Jim Holperin to compel him to
return to work and do his job.

This is about Senator Holperin being elected by the voters of the 12th Senate
District to do a job, and then, when the job gets uncomfortable for him, his
deciding not to do his elected duty.

Senator Holperin was elected to represent the citizens of the 12th Senate District –
including my wife, my boys and myself. Since February, 17th Senator Holperin has
not shown up to represent the interests of the people of the 12th Senate District
in the important State budget deficit issue facing his constituents, Oconto County
and the State of Wisconsin.

Senator Holperin has also failed to honor his Oath of Office as a State Senator. He
has repeatedly ignored and broken the rules of the Wisconsin State Senate.

It’s time to get back to work in Wisconsin and build our economy for all of us,
especially for our daughters and sons and for their children.

In my neck of the woods, Town of Lakewood in Oconto County, folks fortunate
enough to have jobs, do them every day following the rules of employment. If
not, they get quit or get fired.

For the Northwoods, getting Wisconsin back to work begins with Senator Holperin
returning to the Floor of the State Senate to do the job he was elected to do -
debating and voting on legislation.

Kevin Barthel
March 2, 2011

And here is Judge Conley's initial ruling

"The Court has ruled that Senator Holperin has violated his duty to be at Senate proceedings. The Court has allowed our suit to continue. It's now up to the Senate to enforce its rules by every and any means - the Court expects they will do just that. If not, we expect to prevail before the Court. He, like all of us, is waiting to see what the Senate does."

Those involved with the recall effort approached officials in each of the county seats in the 30th Senate District to schedule signature collection events to be held on Thursdays for the next 8 weeks until the goal for signatures is reached. Those events have been set up in Green Bay and Oconto from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm for recall supporters to sign the petition, drop off completed petitions and learn how to be a circulator. However, events weren’t set up in Marinette at city hall. In an email from organizers of the recall effort about the events the following is mentioned:

Marinette Mayor, Robert Harbick, personally denied the right to use Marinette city hall for the purpose of peaceful circulation of recall petitions."

People of Marinette, it's time to show what you are made of. Will you stand for this?

The Wisconsin protesters are losing their grip on reality.
The point of that last post — 'I have professors that received doctorates...' — is that as the protest drags on and protesters are sleep-deprived and frustrated and tired of nothing happening but standing around chanting and listening to drum-beating for hours on end, logic and proportion is flopping away. There was some serious aggression yesterday."

Hurry, we will need more.....

Finally Some Sanity, Mayor Halts Union Negotiations

Three cheers for Tipple.

Mayor Tipple halts union negotiations | wausaudailyherald.com | Wausau Daily Herald
BY CHAD DALLY • WAUSAU DAILY HERALD • MARCH 2, 2011

Wausau Mayor Jim Tipple has suspended all negotiations with city unions as he waits for the budget dust to settle in Madison, leaving nearly 250 workers waiting for new contracts."

Uncertainty over Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill that would drastically alter collective bargaining rights for public employees prompted Tipple to suspend ratification of contracts with two of the city's five unions, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Locals 1287 and 1287CH.

Tipple also halted negotiations with the police, fire and transit unions, even though Walker's bill currently exempts police and fire unions from changes. In a letter to the city's five union presidents, Tipple said the city won't move forward with contracts until the state budget is finalized.

Kevin Barthel Wants Jim Holperin Back In Wisconsin

Looks like someone in Oconto County wants Jim Holperin back in the state of Wisconsin.

Dad 29 found this at the bottom of the JSOnline article.

"Meanwhile, Kevin Barthel of Lakewood filed paperwork Tuesday in Oconto County Circuit Court seeking an order to force Sen. Jim Holperin (D-Conover) to return to the Senate chamber."

Way to go Mr Barthel.

What Would Happen Without Public Employees?

The Lakeland Times posted a letter to the editor this past week from Steve Lucareli, from Eagle River. I find it very strange Steve goes out of his way to scare the citizens of Eagle River if Governor Walkers budget plans go forward. I will comment in red asking some questions making some thoughts all of us might have.

2/25/2011 6:58:00 PM
A day without public employees

To the Editor:

You get out of bed at 6 a.m. and the first thing you notice is that the street in front of your house is not plowed. Instead, the 12 inches of snow that fell overnight remains undisturbed and impassible.

Steve what else is new, I have to wait till two or three in the afternoon before my road is plowed.

The snow plow drivers all quit last week after Gov. Walker took their collective bargaining rights.

Steve, if the drivers quit, there are thousands of people with plow's on their trucks to open up main roads. If I have to use my ATV to open my road, I'd be glad to do it. Hey buddy, if the plow drivers quit last week, I and thousands would today be driving those trucks because we would have been hired at a third of the cost to your high paid salary and benefits. Steve as of today the roads would be plowed and cleared and your buddies that quit would today be out of a job.

You go to fill the coffee pot, but no water comes out of the tap. It seems that the water main that services your house broke overnight from the subzero temperatures that finally drove the frost far enough down to cause a heave and a fracture. Not only can you not fill the coffee pot, but the hot shower you looked forward to is now out of the question.

Nobody from the water department responds because they have all quit because Gov. Walker took their collective bargaining rights.

Steve we are now into March and chances of water mains breaking would only come from a former water department worker sabotaging the water system. Is that what your members will do, Possible contamination of drinking water? Steve, will your brothers really do that?

While you are looking out your front window at the intersection just in front of your house, two cars careening through the snow crash in the middle of the intersection. A man gets out of one of the cars, and you can see blood pouring from a gash in his forehead as he staggers in the deep snow. A half hour later, no police have responded to investigate the crash, or to radio for help for anybody who was injured.

Steve, your scenario could happen today, I'm sure there are a lot of people that would help get the injured person to the hospital. What did people do a hundred years ago when there was only a saw bone doctor every 30 or 40 miles.

Steve, so your saying all police quit their jobs? Really?

The police are no longer on the job because they walked out in solidarity with the other workers who lost their collective bargaining rights after Gov. Walker took them.

So we have no police, Steve let me remind you that during the Wisconsin 9 day deer gun hunt, there are over 650,000 guns in the woods.Something like the third largest army in the world each November in Wisconsin. We have our 2nd amendment rights, people's right to bear arms. If police quit their jobs, we will be in anarchy, and everyone will be protecting their own belongings and property. It will not get to that point because the National Guard will be called in to keep the peace. Did I forget  to tell you a lot of people will now have more guns and ammo in their homes?

A half an hour later, your children are up for school, but there will be no school today.

There are no public school teachers as of today, because Gov. Walker has disbanded the unions.

Steve, school may be closed today, tomorrow or next week but within 10 days we will have our schools back up and running. There are thousands of young teachers without jobs right now. I know there are parents who would volunteer to help teach, make meals, monitor the hallways. With in a week, schools will be teaching again and your comrade teachers will be home without a job. I also will say there are a lot of good teachers who would not walk off their jobs because there are a lot of good teachers who do care for their students and not for the leaders of their unions.

Along with the teachers, the custodians are gone, too, and the heating system at the school has shut down for some reason. The building's temperature is rapidly falling, and in a short while, it will be freezing inside and pipes will begin to burst, ruining the $30 million school that was built a few years ago.

Steve, Steve Steve, Are you saying custodians would, can I say again, sabotage the heating system? What did you mean by "some reason", humm?  As far as custodians, I know a lot of people unemployed who would also sweep the floors at school for $8 - $10 and hour.

With the schools closing, the privately run bus company has also shut down. There is no need to bus students to a school that is not open, and has no students or teachers. The bus drivers are all told that they have been let go because there is no need for them.

No Steve, within a short number of days the bus drivers will be taking our children to school. Schools will be open and our children will finally get an education that tax payers pay for. Nice try buddy.

The food service truck driver gets a call. No delivery to the school, or any school for that matter, because without students, there is no need for food in the school cafeteria. By the end of the week, the truck driver will be let go, and the food service company will file for bankruptcy because the school was their main account.

Moot point again, within a few days all schools will be open and the radical union teachers will be at home out of work. How long will those teachers protest in front of their schools. My school back in the late 60's or early 70's went on strike. They came back after one week. Also, what would students think, seeing their teachers walking the picket line?

At 10 a.m., you are looking across the street at the house where an elderly widow lives, and you see a man breaking in a window. You try to call the sheriff, but nobody answers the phone at the dispatch. All of the dispatchers, deputies and detectives have quit their jobs in solidarity with the other public employees.

Steve, you forgot the guy next door, he will use his Smith & Wesson 357 to protect the widow. On second thought, I bet the elderly lady has a Saturday night special and will drop the guy in the front door. Again, the National Guard will be out but people will protect themselves and their neighbours if they have to.

They realize that once the unions are broken by Gov. Walker, it is only a matter of time until Gov. Walker comes after their union. They know that is a hallmark of union busting, divide and conquer. Then you realize that the man you see breaking in was an inmate in the jail who walked out this morning after the jailers walked off the job.

Steve, why don't the the police and fire fighters unions come to the table today and discuss with Walker what they can do to help Wisconsin get out of this budget mess? Their leaders will not negotiate. To the inmate, meet my elderly widow next door, I didn't know she had a Crimson Trace on that gun.

You leave your house and walk down to the courthouse a few blocks away. Along the way, a tree rocking in the wind blows down and falls into a power line. The wire from the power line sparks a fire on the house adjacent to the line and the house begins to burn.

This happens every day in the world, If fire fighters walk off the job, one, we will have the National Guard and two, a lot of fire departments are volunteer. We will get by. If radical members think of starting houses on fire, well, let's not go there.

There are no sirens.

All of the firefighters walked off the job in solidarity with the other public employees whose unions Gov. Walker disbanded. In a short time, the house will burn to the ground and the family that lived there will not only be homeless, but will lose all of their worldly possessions.

Steve, if they walk off their jobs, it is an illegal strike. Illegal for which they can be fired. Will all fire fighters just stand their and watch someone die in a burning house? Some might, but not all.People will help the

When you get to the courthouse, it is dark because no custodians came to work to turn on the lights. Although all of the elected officials are in their offices, nothing is getting done because there is no support staff.

They all quit after Gov. Walker took their collective bargaining rights.

Steve, did you forget there are unemployed people who would jump at a job at the courthouse sweeping floors or working in the courthouse. The only reason the lights would be off is if someone cut the wires. Now who would be that low to destroy government property? Maybe it time we shut government down and only be open one or two days a week or month.

You are amazed at the offices that will be closed without support staff which include the clerk of courts office, the register of deeds, social services, child support, the treasurer, county clerk, public nurse, extension office, district attorney's office, juvenile intake office, corporation counsel, etc.

How many times must I say, these jobs will be replaced by non union workers, working for far less money and or benefits.

The impact of all of these offices closing hits the city like a wave. In a short time, realty offices and title companies will close, along with attorneys and accountants. No mortgages will be written or loans made to buy cars. Concerned about an economic collapse, there will be a run on the banks as people try to withdraw their savings and the banks will close in response.

No Steve, private business will still be running and probably  solve a lot of big governments problems the unions gave us. Life will go on unless someone tries to obstruct services in a temper tantrum.

As you watch and read about the events that are unfolding in Madison this week, think about how all of the dedicated public employees who go to work each week touch all of our lives.

Can we really risk a world without them?

How right you are Steve. As most people in Wisconsin watch teachers calling in sick, doctors writing fake excuses. Out of state union members coming to Madison to protest and people putting doughnuts and cups of coffee on the Wisconsin State Constitution  in one of the most beautiful state houses in the country. Steve your right when we see protesters deface and mutilate the Veterans memorial in the Capitol, we are so proud.

Can the people of Wisconsin risk the world without unions in Wisconsin? Can I answer for the 80 to 90 % of the people of Wisconsin?

Yes we can and

yes we will.

Don't let the door hit you when you leave.

Tell King Scott the public employees are not his servants, they work to serve you. Tell King Scott that his plan will be a disaster for all of us.

Tell King Scott that Wisconsin is not his kingdom, it belongs to all of us.

Steve Lucareli

Eagle River

Scott Walker is no king, he is our governor that was elected last November. The people of Wisconsin elected him and a majority of republicans to fix the deficit and fix the problems Jim Doyle and the democrats gave us the last four years. And yes, Doyle and the democrats served the union leaders like a millionaires butler and maid. What ever union leaders demanded, they gave to them.

Steve, the only kings in Wisconsin are the union leaders. Union leadership is looking for their members to serve them without question. Union leadership is looking for democrats to serve them hand and foot. Union leaders are afraid that if members have to send in their monthly dues by themselves, most will not. Union leaders are afraid to lose membership, lose their stranglehold on state and local government leaders. Union leadership is running scared and that is what we are seeing in Madison today.

Yes Steve Wisconsin belongs to us. That includes you. The people of Wisconsin will not be bullied, threatened or pushed around. Your party lost last November. Collective bargaining is not a right. It was a privilege given to unions in the past. Because of the greed of union leadership, they took it too far , too far against the people who pay them. The taxpayers of Wisconsin.
